I strive for quality in my program. I am delighted to have received a 4 star rating from Parent Aware, Minnesota's Quality Rating System. Parent Aware helps you find child care and early education providers in your area focused on high quality early learning and kindergarten readiness. Parent Aware is a one-to four-star ratings system that measures best practices identified by research that help children succeed in kindergarten and beyond. Parent Aware also provides families with many community resources. Those resources can be found at: www.parentaware.org |
My program provides age-appropriate activities for children ages 2-5, preschoolers. My goal each day is to conduct activities that are within the abilities of each child and that challenge each child’s creative talent and imagination. I do this through offering activities that include teachable moments in a semi-structured format. Through scaffolding, observations, and assessments, we all work together to have each child school ready.
My curriculum focuses on school readiness with a Christian emphasis. I use themed units with special emphasis on a particular letter and number for each week. We also discuss a particular Bible story and verse each month and discuss their applications to life. I use Creative Curriculum, which is a state approved curriculum, as the foundation of my program. I build on that with my own ideas as well as using Funshine Christian Supplement and My Big World from Scholastic. I also incorporate Hand Writing Without Tears to help children learn to print letters and numbers. To help the children be socially and emotionally ready for school I have implemented Second Step School Readiness program.

Communication is a huge part of parents and providers helping each child to be successful in life. I encourage daily communication upon arrival and dismissal. Your child's daily activities and photos are shared on a private blog as well.
